Adobe reader 9.2 - posted in Windows 7: I am trying to install belkin. 838 driver to my computer, when I do it downloads adobe reader 9.2, for some reason, i can not remove it from my programs. Adobe Reader Lite is a desktop application that allows you to view and edit PDF files. This PDF viewer is independent from Adobe Reader DC and other programs developed by Adobe. This version of Adobe Reader is compatible with Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8 only. I updated to Adobe Reader 9.2 from Adobe's website this morning and when I got home, it said Adobe updater needs attention. It was offering to install 8.1.4. Maybe because I haven't restarted yet. I thought that was weird. Several problems trying to open a pdf file after updating. Said tab has been restored and kicked me out of reader a few times. Every.exe or shortcut to.exe when clicked would launch adobe reader and tell me that (obviously) adobe reader cannot open this type of file.Even control panel would do the same.I double left-clicked on the icon of CCleaner on my desktop but the same thing happened.I found the way to open it, by right clicking it, and selecting 'open'. Version 6 was VERY out of date 2 years ago, Version 11 was around then, now it's slight successor Adobe Acrobat Reader is at version 15 Flash Player 26.0 Free Flash Player 10.1 is Adobe's last version of the popular Flash player.

Hi All!
First of all i'll take this chance to say hello to everyone as I am a new user to this forum.
This is a great site, excellent job is done over here!
Naturally i have a problem too.
I have a PC running XP Home completely up to date. It has an amd processor with 512Ram and 160 Gb HDD.
I started it up last week and nothing would open. Every .exe or shortcut to .exe when clicked would launch adobe reader and tell me that (obviously) adobe reader cannot open this type of file.Even control panel would do the same.I double left-clicked on the icon of CCleaner on my desktop but the same thing happened.I found the way to open it, by right clicking it, and selecting 'open'. I un-installed adobe reader using CCleaner tool thinking that re-installing adobe reader would solve the problem.
Once un-installed everything i tried to open made a window pop up asking me to select a program to open it with.
At this point i did some google-ing and did this as suggested in an italian forum:
downloaded combofix,rename it abc and give the command
'% userprofile%desktopabc.exe' /killall
Everything went fine and all was working on the pc.
I went to the adobe.com page to download adobe reader and tried to download it. But when i got to accept the activeX control, ie8 crushed.
Did that 10 times, restarted twice but nothing. I could not even move the mouse over the yellow activeX top bar that ie8 crushed all the time. I went to filehippo.com(pretty good site) downloaded the latest version (tried also with the older versions actually with no luck!) installed it and the same problem occurred. Everything i tried to open popped up the adobe reader window together with the error log.
I installed malwarebytes, CCleaner, Killbot search and destroy and lots other stuff. Looked for Forums but found nothing.
So i turned to this forum. Any hint for this unbelievable series of happenings?
Any, really any suggestion would be appreciated!

Adobe will end support of Flash Player on December 31, 2020. Here's what you can expect in the meantime for each Microsoft browser:

In the next version of Microsoft Edge (built on Chromium), Flash will be disabled by default. However, users may re-enable it on a site-by-site basis. Facebook desktop windows. The timeline for Chromium-based browsers can be found here.

Flash will be completely removed from all browsers by December 31, 2020, via Windows Update. Group policies are available for enterprise admins and IT pros to change the Flash behavior prior to that date.
